估計對象為 15 歲及以上人群，包括吸菸和無菸菸草（包括電子煙）。沒有 2022 年資料的國家已被省略。
幾乎在每個國家，男性吸菸者都多於女性。在全球範圍內，男性吸煙率平均為 36%，而女性吸煙率平均僅為 8%。
區域性的分析
在許多亞洲國家，男性和女性吸菸者之間的差異比世界其他國家都大。例如，中國男性的菸草使用率估計為 47.3%，而女性僅為 2.0%。
另一方面，美洲和非洲的菸草使用率較低。例如奈及利亞的菸草使用率只有 2.9%，是 2022 年全球菸草使用率最低的國家。
